India: V Kohli, R Sharma, J Bumrah, Y Chahal, MS Dhoni, S Dhawan, S Iyer, K Jhadav, K Yadav, D Karthik, B Kumar, M Shami, M Pandey, H Pandya, A Patel, A Rahane, S Thakur.
South African Squad and Skipper Duminy have found themselves in a pickle with the way guest team is playing and smashing records. Though with the 2nd game in the series they have manged to hold the fort with a tie and a chance at the series but odds are not great.
Captain JP Duminy will have to make sure not to repeat his form of 1st match. Though the second match between the two teams was a relief in form of the team performance at batting end, the South African bowling side is struggling and it could lead to a disaster against the aggression of Indian batting side.
A change in battling lineup is expected by captain Duminy who could bring in Christiaan Jonker but the replacement would be hard and could leave out a crucial player.
Skipper JP Duminy was the pillar for African side with his 64 not out as he lead the team to a win. Duminy’s struggle to get the team land on trophy was also seen in his bowling when he sent Dhawan back in stands. He is the man Indian bowlers would be gunning for most. But the other main hitter to look out for is H Klaasen. This Right-Handed batsman has been a great support for his squad with a fine performance in both the previous matches. Host team has men who can turn the game around and F Behardien is one such hitter, whose contribution can make a difference.
CJ Dala has proved out to be one of the most successful bowler for South African side and Captain Duminy would be relying alot on him for the third match. AL Phehlukwayo too has been able to grab wickets in both the last games against Indian side. While Paterson is yet to break his dry spell, seamer like Chris Morris too hasn’t been much of a thunder he usually is.
When it comes to hitting skipper Duminy is in a great shape, though pressure is high he still has been handling his bat with the right grace causing trouble for Indian side. H Klaasen is in great form too using his batting wrist just the right way and a partnership with Captain could mean a changing the odds and a victory against the guest team.
Though South African batsmen and bowlers have been able to grab one match for a tie, the hiccups in the team form is evident. Chris Morris has not lived up to his reputation of the intense seamer that he is known for. While bowlers like Paterson have been costlier against Indian team’s unstoppable performance. CJ Dala will have all eyes on him and is currently the fittest pacer with a form that could cause a worry fir Indian batting side.
India’s south African tour 2017-2018 is everything Indian squad need to set their morale meter higher for upcoming series. The continuation of bombastic form of men in blue and exceptional performance of the team captain has left no doubt in the mind of punters, fans and cricket experts about the winning odds in its side.
With a tie of 1-1 in the 3 match T20 series, India’s side looks heavy and ready to steal this series adding more feathers to their belt before departing from SA.
Indian Captain is hungry and busy breaking records and making runs for his team which could only mean bad news for the host side. Despite his single run dismissal in the 2nd T20 , he is not the man to take lightly. Apart from the skipper, the biggest threat from Indian batting side is the aggression of Pandey and Dhoni which could prove a headache for South African bowlers. Pandey’s smashing 79 and Dhoni’s 52 was a stormy partnership, South Africa will have to make sure does not happen again. Rohit Sharma’s early LBW in last match was disappointing which is the very reason to be vary of his performance; he is expected to compensate for his early dismissal. SK Raina hasn’t been loud with his bat either but has made the right contribution in last two matches.
While everyone is talking about Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his 5 wickets from first face off game of this series, the last game was a dry one for him. Bowlers like JD Unadkat and HH Pandya have been successful too in getting one or two batsmen off the ground. While Jaspreet Bumrah hasn’t warmed up much and was left out of the second match, this could be the right match to show his presence in T2O.
Indian Batsmen are aggressive and in a great form supporting each other with right partnership and hits. Youngsters like Pandey and Dhawan are in best shape and mind-frame to lead the team to a victory alongside the skipper Kohli.
Players who would try to work more with their bat are Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma. These are squad members who have potential to smack back to back 6s and 4s but with Raina’s contribution of 31 and Rohit Sharma’s empty scorecard from 2nd game, it seems these men would want to play carefully.
Despite no success in last match, Bhvaneshwar Kumar with man of the match trophy for 5wickets from 1st Match is going to be the highlight. YS Chahal is on sprint since ODIs and even now his contribution hasn’t stopped. Unadkat has been active but he might have to restrain his casualness to giving the runs and economy. Jaspreet Bumrah if given chance would want to avoid repeating his first game performance.
Series result: India won the 3-match series 2-1
