Multan Sultans:

There were no major contributions from their top-order in the last game against Karachi Kings and the team will need to rectify that against Islamabad United. Kumar Sangakkara has been their most consistent batsmen this PSL and the onus will be on him to take his team off to a good start. Imran Tahir is leading the wickets charts with 12 wickets in 9 matches and the Sultans will rely mainly on him when it comes to bowling.

Islamabad United:

While the opening pair of JP Duminy and Luke Ronchi has been the key for them at the top, Misbah-ul-Haq with his loads of experience has been their main man in the middle order. Duminy is coming off a sparkling 73 not-out against Peshawar Zalmi and he will be backed by his team for another good performance here. The likes of Mohammad Sami, Steven Finn, Samit Patel and Shadab Khan form a formidable bowling attack. Patel bagged a four-fer to derail Peshawar’s innings and he will be expected to trouble the Sultans as well.

Multan Sultans vs Islamabad United Prediction:

Multan Sultans began their PSL 3 campaign in style with four wins in their first five completed fixtures but they seem to have lost their way after that. Now three defeats in a row means that they cannot afford to lose this game because if they do, their playoffs hopes would be over if Peshawar Zalmi win their remaining two games. Islamabad United on the other hand have already qualified for the playoffs and have the momentum with them after winning their last four matches on the trot. They outplayed the Sultans earlier in the season and we predict them to win again.
