26th Match of PSL 2018 Quetta Gladiators vs Lahore Qalandars
The match is scheduled to begin on 14 March, 2018 at 20:00 local time (16:00 GMT and 21:00 PKT).
Quetta Gladiators: Rameez Raja, Sarfraz Ahmed, Anwer Ali, Jofra Archer, Asad Shafiq, Azam Khan, Faraz Ahmed, Hasan Khan Mohammad, Mahmudullah, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Nawaz, Kevin Pietersen, Rahat Ali, Rashid Khan, Rilee Rousouw, Jason Roy, Saad Ali, Saud Shakeel, Umar Amin, Shane Watson.
Lahore Qalandars: Brendon McCullum, Aamer Yamin, Bilal Asif, Bilawal Bhatti, Cameron Delport, Anton Devcich, Fakhar Zaman, Ghulam Mudassar, Gulraiz Sadaf, Imran Khan, Chris Lynn, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mustafizur Rahman, Sunil Narine, Denesh Ramdin, Raza Hasan, Salman Irshad, Shaheen Afridi, Sohail Akhtar, Sohail Khan, Umar Akmal, Yasir Shah.
Shane Watson and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed scored 37 and 45* respectively to take the Gladiators to a six-wicket win over Peshawar Zalmi in the last game of Pakistan Super League. Watson is the season’s leading run-getter and has so far taken the most wickets for his side which makes him the key man with both bat and ball. Fast bowler Ben Laughlin seems to be the team’s best bet to pick up the early wickets with the new ball while left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz will be expected to maintain his economical figures.
Their batting class resides mainly in Fakhar Zaman, Agha Salman and skipper Brendon McCullum and it will be crucial that they make notable contributions in this match. Salman cracked a fifty in the last game and the Qalandars will want him to replicate that form against the Gladiators. Sohail Khan took three wickets last time and he will be expected to provide good support to Mitchell McClenaghan whose inclusion has somewhat bolstered the team’s pace attack. Yasir Shah and Sunil Narine continue to remain the go-to men in the spin department.
Quetta Gladiators vs Lahore Qalandars Prediction:
Lahore Qalandars are now out of the race for the playoffs and they will be looking to salvage some pride by winning their remaining two fixtures. Quetta Gladiators on the other hand are just one more win away from confirming their place in the top four. They clearly have the upper hand going into this game as they have beaten Lahore in their previous four head to head encounters, including the nine-wicket drubbing at Dubai earlier this season. The Gladiators are coming on the back of three successive wins and they look well set to make it four in a row.
