Mohammad Hafeez and Dwayne Smith have been the major contributors with the bat for Peshawar this PSL. Both are amongst the season’s top five run-scorers and the team will want them to score the big runs against Karachi Kings. With the ball, they rely heavily on their pace trio of Umaid Asif, Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali for getting the early breakthroughs. Wahab is currently the second-best bowler of the season with 11 wickets in 8 matches and he will pose the biggest threat to the Kings.
Lendl Simmons and Babar Azam struck a fifty each in the last game against Lahore Qalandars to propel the team’s total to a respectable 163. The latter with three fifties to his name is one of the leading run-scorers of the season and he will be the key batsman for Karachi here. Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Amir and Usman Khan have all done a good job with the ball so far. Afridi has been the pick of the lot with 10 wickets in 6 matches and the team will bank on him to do most of the damage.
Peshawar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings Prediction:
There is going to be a lot more pressure on Peshawar Zalmi who need to ensure a win here at all costs in order to keep their playoffs chances alive while Karachi Kings need to win at least one of their remaining two matches to make it through. The former should gain confidence from having beaten the latter four times out of six in the PSL but they will also be aware of the defeat they suffered at the hands of the same opposition in their first head-to-head clash of the season. Karachi Kings have an edge due to their superior bowling attack which is why we feel they have a better chance of notching up a win.
